POLITICS

Germany and Italy want to swiftly agree a solidarity deal to
boost their energy security, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said
on Wednesday at the countries’ first intergovernmental summit in
seven years seeking to strengthen cooperation on a raft of
issues.

Italy blocked French group Safran’s planned $1.8
billion purchase of the flight control systems arm of Collins
Aerospace because it could have threatened supplies to national
armed forces, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Wednesday.

DEBT

Treasury announces sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative
amounts to be auctioned on Nov. 28.

COMPANIES

ENEL

The Italian utility group will focus its investments on
power grids in the next three years and take a more cautious
approach to spending on renewable energy projects, its new chief
executive said on Wednesday.

QatarEnergy is the company to which Enel’s Spanish
subsidiary Endesa will have to pay $570 million
following an arbitration ruling over a liquefied natural gas
(LNG) contract dispute, three people familiar with the matter
told Reuters on Wednesday.

ENI

Moody’s on Wednesday raised the outlook on the Italian
energy group to “stable” and confirmed its Baa1 rating,
following a similar outlook upgrade on Italy’s sovereign debt
last week.

STELLANTIS

The automaker said on Wednesday it would repurchase 934
million euros in shares from China’s Dongfeng as part
of the share repurchase framework announced last year.
Stellantis said it plans to cancel these shares.

The automaker said on Wednesday it is recalling an estimated
32,125 U.S.-market plug-in hybrid SUVs to resolve a potential
fire risk.

The recall concerns certain model-year 2021-2024 Jeep
Wrangler 4xe SUVs, and also affects around 3,850 vehicles in
Canada and about 9,250 vehicles outside of North America, the
company said.

BANCO BPM

Italy’s no.3 bank said on Wednesday it had successfully
launched a social senior preferred bond for 500 million euros to
institutional investors only. The bond was issued at a price of
99.818%, with a coupon of 4.625%.

MONCLER

EssilorLuxottica signed an exclusive licensing
agreement for the design, production, and global distribution of
Moncler eyewear, the two companies said on Wednesday.

The agreement will be in effect from January 2024 until
December 2028, with an automatic renewal option for an
additional five years, they added.

FINCANTIERI, LEONARDO

The Italian shipbuilding group said on Wednesday it had
signed a 10-year contract with Egypt for the maintenance of two
Fremm military frigates valued at around 260 million euros
($283.58 million).

The figure includes the portion of the contract that will be
allocated to OSN, the joint venture owned by Fincantieri and
Leonardo with stakes of 51% and 49% respectively, as a
sub-supplier.

LOTTOMATICA

Morgan Stanley held a 5.9% stake in the Italian
gaming group as of Nov. 16, a Consob markets regulator filing
showed on Wednesday.

IPO, GOLDEN GOOSE

Italian luxury sneaker brand Golden Goose, which is
considering a possible market listing in Milan next year, said
on Wednesday its revenues rose 16% in the third quarter to 145
million euros ($158 million).
