Former CFO of Trump Organization, Weisselberg, to admit lying in court – New York Times

In a recent report by the New York Times, it was stated that Allen Weisselberg, the former Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization, is planning to plead guilty to charges of perjury related to his testimony in the civil fraud trial involving former President Donald Trump. Sources familiar with the matter indicated that Weisselberg’s plea could be entered as early as today.

Weisselberg, who is 76 years old, was previously ordered to pay $1.1 million, including interest, as part of the outcome of the civil fraud case where Trump was found responsible for manipulating his net worth. Trump, who is currently considered a leading candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, faced the legal action initiated by the New York state’s attorney general.

As part of the reported agreement, Weisselberg is anticipated to confess to providing false information during his trial testimony and may also acknowledge misleading investigators from the attorney general’s office. However, it has been noted that he is not expected to cooperate in any way against the former president.

The situation has garnered attention from various quarters, with further details being provided by additional reporting by Luc Cohen in New York. This story was brought to light by Susan Heavey in collaboration with the professionals at Reuters.
